Fragrance writer and reviewer Stephan Matthews, known for his eponymous blog devoted to “putting fun back into fragrance” has selected Far from the Madding Crowd as one of his favourite five fragrances of 2021.

“The fragrance is a glorious snapshot of the meeting between the hero and the heroine…”

Thank you, Stephan. We’re really flattered… and delighted, of course.

One of the five unisex luxury eau de parfums in our S.BAKER Collection that focuses on creating “freshies” in new and interesting ways, Far from the Madding Crowd takes inspiration —and its name—from Thomas Hardy’s sprawling romantic tearjerker of a novel set in the19th century in England's pastoral West Country. Created by nose Miguel Matos, it is a unique melange of heliotrope, myrtle, deciduous fruits and woody notes, among others.

Be sure to check out Stephan’s Favourite Five and you should also be sure to check his earlier full review of Far from the Madding Crowd.

Thanks once, Stephan, for this delightful early Christmas present.
