“Being a gourmand lover myself, I started to realize that I wanted something unique, unusual, exotic, and definitely not too sweet. For me, and many other gourmand fans, fruit notes in fragrances felt like the most logical choice to bring the freshness and uniqueness we were looking for.
When I went to Esxence for the first time in 2024, the biggest hit and most memorable fragrance from the exhibition was definitely Peach's Revenge by Sarah Baker Perfumes. The realistic guava note that accompanied the peach blew the minds of so many perfume lovers that year – including mine! What I didn’t know was that Sarah was actually working on a Peach Trilogy. I didn’t expect another peach fragrance could touch my heart (and my nose) in such a new and interesting way.

I was one of the first people to try Pastel Rumours and Rococo Pie in early 2025. I got absolutely hooked on Pastel Rumours because, in my mind, it was the delicate, softer “younger sister” of Peach's Revenge. Sarah played more with the creamy, lactonic aspect of peach here, and it resulted in an absolutely beautiful creation.
For me, Pastel Rumours has this really playful yogurty accord that instantly reminds me of my studies in South Korea. One of the most iconic fermented drinks in Asia is called Yakult, and it’s hugely popular there. I remember buying and drinking packs of those tiny Yakult bottles – I loved the taste! It’s a very nostalgic flavor for Koreans, too, so they even released Lotte Yogurt jelly gummies with peach flavor. That is exactly what Pastel Rumours smells like to me, and it’s my personal interpretation of the “Fruit Loops” note in the official pyramid.

But that’s not all. Pastel Rumours is a rather underrated fragrance from the trilogy, often staying in the shadow of its siblings, but I find far more depth to it than just a peach milkshake. I really adore the small written play Sarah includes inside the box with each fragrance, and the one for Pastel Rumours is fun, bold, and provocative. And so is the scent! It develops real complexity, especially once you start noticing the fizzy ginger note.

With all that in mind, I decided to feature Pastel Rumours at a Scent Club UK event dedicated to wine and perfume pairing. To me, this fragrance perfectly captures the energy of a cool, bold sparkling wine. Guided by its peach notes, I was determined to pair it with a nice sparkling rosé. It worked brilliantly, and everyone at the event really enjoyed the unique sensory experience.”
