Stop the press! Earlier this month we returned once again to Esxence in Milan for the world's biggest niche and artistic perfumes trade show.

SCENT STORY STAR

We always like to have a surprise in store for those who visit us at this unique fair celebrating niche fragrance. This year we have a newspaper, Sarah Baker Times, packed with the kinds of stories, news and short items you’d expect to find in any respected print media title. And of course, there is a whole central section giving complete details of all of the house’s fragrances and products.

We think you will particularly enjoy our cover story on star Deyemi’s performance for the launch event of the house’s fragrances in Lagos. Deyemi Okonlawon is Nigeria’s top-grossing film and TV star. In his first ever brand collaboration, he headlined for a spectacular theatrical performance of the scripts created by Sarah Baker Studios, working with a respected director and a talented cast of actors, dancers and musicians. The explosive performance was the culmination of a week-long launch tour taking in three Nigerian cities, a collaboration with Seinde Signature, the country’s leading high-end retail chain for luxury niche fragrance.

You can read more about it here and see videos of the event and tour on the house’s Instagram. But the print version also includes additional insights and behind-the-scenes coverage.

SARAH BAKER TIMES

Issue No.1 of Sarah Baker Times covers a whole range of topics including stories of other performances of the scripts created by Sarah Baker Studios—yes, it seems to have become “a thing”—as well as insight into how and why we create these scripts. There are interviews with some of the noses who have created fragrances for the house and analysis of particular, sought-after perfume ingredients. Like any self-respecting print title, we even have travel and culture content: Sarah on why Barcelona is a great destination for mixing business and family travel; and a feature on the brand’s IN HOUSE project that invites artists to respond to our fragrances. And, of course, there’s that central “supplement” that covers all of our fragrances in depth.

The original content created for Sarah Baker Times is currently only available in our print newspaper, available at our booth at Esxence. So, we guess you’ll need to swing by. We’d be delighted to see you.

THE NEW VANILLA

Esxence was also the first occasion for many to experience two of the distinctive vanilla-led perfumes created by Margaux Le Paih Guérin. Margaux is the latest nose to create fragrances for the house and her Velvet Vendetta and Va Va Vanilla have already created quite a buzz.

To make things more fun for those attending the fair, we hosted a special preview event at our stand. Those who attended were able to experience perfume mods created by Margaux, one of which will go on to be released as the final chapter for her vanilla trilogy for the house.

Votes were taken! It was actually quite an interesting thing for people to experience and for us to take this survey, so we extended the voting period for the duration of the show.

And! We are taking the show on the road for the upcoming event next week in San Francisco, SF ScentFest. Join us and cast your vote in San Francisco!
