A masterpiece of scented subversion, our latest fragrance - Velvet Vendetta - takes vanilla out of desserts and firmly places it in the desert. This is vanilla on the edge, riding high on a saddle, hard drinking, fast living and sharp shooting. 

The Wild West has always been a place of myth, and myths deserve an update. We’ve drawn inspiration from this time to forge a scent steeped in legend. This isn’t a tired trope or well-trodden path. This is defiant vanilla, wild and untamed. An outlaw scent for icons and rogues. A buckshot of spices - pink pepper and nutmeg - clashes against splintered cedar and an iconic deadwood accord. A haze of tobacco hints at the dark interior of a saloon, whilst a shot of warming bourbon puts some fire in your belly. 

The dramatic action of liquor soaked woods and fiery spices takes place against the velvet backdrop of a saloon girl’s dress. Sticky black molasses clings to fingertips alongside luxurious black vanilla, whilst the whiff of gunsmoke lingers in the air. Against danger and dry desert air there is the sensual embrace of softness and comfort.  

Velvet Vendetta is our most ambitious fragrance yet. Taking a familiar ingredient and turning it into something surprising, exciting and novel was a challenge that was relished by the Sarah Baker team. A chance meeting with French perfumer, Margaux le Paih Guerin, provided the final piece of the puzzle and after months of development, a whip-cracking new scent was born.

Margaux said: “The idea behind Velvet Vendetta was to dive deep into a dark, sensual, animalic vanilla, as if it were born in the Nevada desert at the end of the 19th century. The goal was to take people on a journey through a haze of tobacco, bourbon, and smoke. Raw, untamed, and yet undeniably sexy. Go wild!”
